If you feel you did not receive the services you expected, the College is here to listen and make your concerns known.\u202f\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e26a5dc4c67ec808df12b165231e6fed\">COTO addresses all complaints from clients or their representatives. The program can provide you with meaningful and clear outcomes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Resolutions help make sure the occupational therapist reflects on the complaint and learns from it, so the same problem does not happen again. The program requires the occupational therapist to sign a contract to do certain activities approved by the College&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How does the Resolution Program Work?<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-fade-in-right has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">If you submit a concern about an occupational therapist, the College will decide if the Resolution Program is an option. You will be asked if you wish to have your complaint moved into the Resolution Program. The occupational therapist will also be asked if they agree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">If the Resolution Program is an option for your complaint:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-fade-in-right\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The College writes a Resolution Agreement, which is sent to you and the occupational therapist for review. The&nbsp;Resolution Agreement&nbsp;lists the learning activities the occupational therapist must do.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The activities may include reviewing standards or competencies and writing a reflection about what happened. Other activities may also be required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you agree with the Resolution Agreement, you will sign it and send a signed copy to the College. The occupational therapist will be asked to do the same.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The occupational therapist must complete all the activities by a deadline. The College will check to make sure everything is done.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the occupational therapist does not finish the activities, the College will start an investigation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.coto.org\/registrants\/conduct\/resolutions-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Learn more about the Resolution Program at the College<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" id=\"investigations-complaints\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0;padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--x-large);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--x-large)\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-fade-in-right has-global-padding is-content-justification-left is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-04d632e2 wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:#81bc41\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Investigations<\/mark> at the College<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The College\u2019s investigation process is designed to be <strong>fair and neutral <\/strong>to both the person filing the complaint and to the occupational therapist named.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The investigation will include the following:\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>gathering further details from you about your concerns and asking specific questions about what happened.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>obtaining your client record (or that of your family member or the client you represent).\u202f<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>interviewing any other relevant witnesses.\u202f<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>providing an opportunity to the occupational therapist to respond to the concerns in writing to the College. The therapist will receive a copy of your complaint and all the information received or collected by the College.\u202f<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-fade-in-right has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>Once the investigation is complete, our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coto.org\/public\/public-protection\/icrc\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.coto.org\/public\/public-protection\/icrc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee <\/strong>(ICRC)<\/a> will review all the information, including your (or the client you represent) health record and make a decision.\u202f\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our online form provides space for you to describe your interaction with the occupational therapist and upload any relevant documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you submit your complaint, College staff will contact you to discuss the process and
