{"id":1924,"date":"2023-11-23T19:56:00","date_gmt":"2023-11-24T00:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/live-coto.pantheonsite.io\/?post_type=resource&#038;p=1924"},"modified":"2025-01-16T19:12:42","modified_gmt":"2025-01-17T00:12:42","slug":"snapshot-of-complaints-in-2022-2023","status":"publish","type":"resource","link":"https:\/\/www.coto.org\/resources\/snapshot-of-complaints-in-2022-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Snapshot of Complaints in 2022-2023"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Behind the scenes, we\u2019ve been collecting and analyzing complaints data to share learning with registrants and help improve patient experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The snapshot below is based on complaints by clients, caregivers, or family members in the previous fiscal year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>~63% of complaints had a concern about communication. This was often related to the OT\u2019s role, the services the OT was able to provide, appointment scheduling, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>~85% of these complaints involved OTs doing assessments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In ~28% of these cases, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coto.org\/clientsandthepublic\/protecting-the-public\/icrc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee<\/a>\u00a0(ICRC) took action related to communication. This includes issuing advice and guidance or requiring the registrant to complete certain learning activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>So far in 2023-2024:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In ~83% of the complaints we received, communication was a concern.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Most of these complaints involve OTs providing an assessment to determine eligibility for services and\/or products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Coming soon: We\u2019ll share some communications tips that promote good practice and may help you avoid getting a complaint.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Behind the scenes, we\u2019ve been collecting and analyzing complaints data to share learning with registrants and help improve patient experience.
