Occupational therapists can now renew their registration for the 2025-2026 year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All occupational therapists are required to renew or resign online on or before May 31, 2025.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To renew your registration, <a href=\"https:\/\/otportal.coto.org\/SignIn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">log in to the COTO Portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Renewal Fees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>$773.17 ($684.22 + $88.95 HST)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Taking a Leave or Resigning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you will not be working or using the title occupational therapist (OT) in Ontario after May 31, 2025, you may choose to&nbsp;resign your registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resigning means you will not be able to work as an occupational therapist or use the title occupational therapist, abbreviation, or designation OT Reg. (Ont.), in Ontario, until you are re-registered with the College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you maintain your registration with the College while on leave, you will be required to purchase professional liability insurance, comply with all mandatory Quality Assurance requirements, and meet all other professional obligations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coto.org\/registrants\/stopping-practice-in-ontario\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Learn more about stopping practice in Ontario<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Sociodemographic Data Collection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Annual renewal may look a bit different this year, as you will notice additional, optional questions related to sociodemographic information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These new questions are about racialized group identity and are structured according to the data set created by the Canadian Institute of Health Information (CIHI). Anonymous, aggregate data will be shared with CIHI to assist with their development of the profile of Canadian occupational therapists.
