Using this framework, we have created a draft version tailored to practice in Ontario, and we are now seeking your feedback.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The draft Code of Ethics will guide ethical and professional practice for all occupational therapists in Ontario, regardless of practice area. We also welcome feedback from system partners and members of the public about its clarity, application, and relevance.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your input will directly inform the final version of the Code and Guide that will be presented to the Board in early 2026.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Review the proposed draft <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coto.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Draft-COTO-Code-of-Ethics-2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Code of Ethics<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coto.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Draft-COTO-Guide-to-Code-of-Ethics.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Guide to Code of Ethics<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/MLCLTJK\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Complete the feedback survey<\/a> by Monday, February 2, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-paragraph-heading\"><strong>Overview of the proposed Guide to the Code of Ethics&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The accompanying guide:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Defines key concepts and terminology, including <em>Risk Management Approaches<\/em> and <em>Trauma-Informed Approaches<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provides background information, such as the legislative framework supporting ethical practice.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introduces guidance on the ethical use of social media, virtual platforms, and generative Artificial Intelligence (AI).&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A central feature of the guide is the Ethical Practice Checklist. This checklist offers measurable indicators of ethical practice that can be used to describe one or more aspects of professional conduct. Nos partenaires des syst\u00e8mes et les membres du grand public peuvent \u00e9galement donner leur opinion sur la clart\u00e9, l\u2019application et la pertinence du nouveau Code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vos commentaires nous aideront \u00e0 r\u00e9diger la version finale du Code et du guide qui sera pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e au conseil d\u2019administration au d\u00e9but de 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Aper\u00e7u du Guide du code de d\u00e9ontologie propos\u00e9<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Guide du code de d\u00e9ontologie&nbsp;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>d\u00e9finit des concepts et des termes cl\u00e9s, y compris les <em>approches en mati\u00e8re de gestion des risques <\/em>et les <em>approches tenant compte des traumatismes<\/em>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>fournit des renseignements g\u00e9n\u00e9raux, comme le cadre l\u00e9gislatif qui soutient la pratique \u00e9thique;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>oriente l\u2019utilisation \u00e9thique des m\u00e9dias sociaux, des plateformes de services virtuels et de l\u2019intelligence artificielle (IA) g\u00e9n\u00e9rative.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Un point central du Guide est la liste de v\u00e9rification d\u2019une pratique \u00e9thique. Cette liste de v\u00e9rification fournit des indicateurs mesurables d\u2019une pratique \u00e9thique qui peuvent \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s pour d\u00e9crire un ou plusieurs aspects d\u2019une conduite professionnelle.
