The report reflects the&nbsp;work of&nbsp;College&nbsp;programs&nbsp;and Committees&nbsp;to meet&nbsp;their&nbsp;regulatory obligations and&nbsp;advance the&nbsp;2024-2027&nbsp;strategic priorities&nbsp;set by the Board.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>View&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coto.org\/about\/strategic-priorities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">COTO\u2019s 2024-2027 strategic priorities.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>Risk Management&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Board received the Risk Management Report and the updated Risk Register. Managing risks is a key responsibility of the College as it works to regulate the profession of occupational therapy in the public interest. Ensuring the College understands the risks it faces, the plans in place to control, mitigate, avoid, or transfer these risks appropriately is an important&nbsp;oversight&nbsp;responsibility of the Board.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learn more about the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coto.org\/public\/public-protection\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">public protection role of the College<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>Registration Fee Increase<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Board approved the proposed 2% increase to Registration fees for the upcoming 2026\/2027\u00a0annual renewal period.\u00a0\u00a0The proposed increase is a planned and necessary measure to strengthen revenues, build reserves,\u00a0retain\u00a0staff, and ensure COTO\u00a0remains\u00a0financially resilient and capable of meeting its statutory obligations and strategic priorities\/projects.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coto.org\/registrants\/fees-and-tax-receipts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">A schedule of updated fees for the 2026\/2027\u00a0registration year is available\u00a0online<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Understand&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coto.org\/about\/reports-accountability\/understanding-college-fees\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">how the College uses fees<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>I&amp;R Resolution Program Policy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Board reviewed and approved the Resolution Program Policy.&nbsp;The policy&nbsp;permits&nbsp;the College to resolve select lower risk complaints using a Resolution Program as an alternative to a formal investigation. With consent of both the complainant and the occupational therapist, eligible complaints will be addressed faster.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coto.org\/public\/complaints-or-concerns\/resolution-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Details about the policy are available online.<\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>Health Human Resources<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Occupational therapy workforce data from the&nbsp;current&nbsp;Canadian Institute of Health Information\u2019s&nbsp;report was reviewed&nbsp;with&nbsp;the Board.&nbsp;Following the presentation, the Board&nbsp;engaged in exploratory conversations about&nbsp;health human resource planning&nbsp;and opportunities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>Request for Second Provisional Certificate Policy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Board approved adjustments to the Request for Second Provisional Certificate Policy&nbsp;to align with the national policy. &nbsp;The policy outlines the requirements for applicants seeking to&nbsp;maintain&nbsp;provisional registration following an unsuccessful attempt at the National Occupational Therapy Certification Exam (NOTCE) and describes the process for requesting a second provisional certificate of registration, when applicable.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coto.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/request-for-second-provisional-certificate-of-registration-8-160.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Review the Request for&nbsp;Second&nbsp;Provisional Certificate policy<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Quarterly Performance Report The Board received the FY2025-2026&nbsp;Quarterly&nbsp;Performance Report.
